Sombrero was born in 2008 as a blog that wouldn’t be selling hats, but would approach football in a different manner. It was the era of blogs, and we decided to blend our passion for football with our love for storytelling. It was something we did for ourselves and our friends. We never expected, by any means, that it would persist for so long, nor that it would garner such a significant following.

Several years and thousands of articles later, Sombrero has evolved into a popular football destination on social media. It continues not to peddle hats, instead, it has released a book featuring 45 unique stories where football often serves as the mere catalyst. It has shared a few tales through podcasts and persists in writing about the sport it adores. After 15 years, we decided to embark on an international journey and translate several of our articles into English, thus making them accessible to a wider audience.
